Band to Perform ???Keynotes??? concerts at the CAC

The West Virginia University Marching Band, under the direction of Jay Drury, will present its annual ???Keynotes Concerts??? at the Creative Arts Center, Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 28-29.

The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre and will feature the Band???s full complement of brass, woodwinds, percussion, flags and feature twirlers. They will perform musical highlights from the 2005 football season, including favorite pre-game and halftime music.

According to Drury, the pre-game selections will feature WVU fight songs, as well as ???Mountain Dew,??? ???Simple Gifts,??? and ???Country Roads.???

The halftime music will feature several popular movie themes, including ???Star Wars???; "The Incredibles"; and "Batman"; and the famous WVU Drumline will be featured in John Hendricks' arrangement of the Broadway favorite ???Fiddler on the Roof.???

In addition, the audience will hear the R & B classic "In the Stone"; ???Santa Esmarelda,??? a fiery Latin tune; and the classic rock tune ???Karn Evil 9.??? The WVU Band will also present music from their popular "Patriotic Celebration," which will include the national march, "Stars and Stripes Forever"; and a tribute to our Servicemen and women with the "Armed Forces Salute/America the Beatiful Medley."
