If you need to schedule a personal audition or submit a tape, you are encouraged to do so as close to the actual April 12th audition date as possible. Most of the positions for the 2008 WVU Band will be filled on April 12th.
Percussionists:
There will be a "mini-camp" on Friday May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd, which will serve as the audition for the 2008 WVU Drumline. The hours of the camp will be 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, with a break for lunch. *Those wishing to participate in this "Audition Mini-Camp" MUST contact the WVU Band Office to have an audition packet mailed to them. This packet will include the audition music and detailed information about the camp. Note: If you would like to be assigned to stay with a WVU Drumline or Band Member on campus Saturday night, please contact us and these arrangements can be made; otherwise, you are free to make your own lodging arrangements. Students are responsible for their own meals during the camp. All students selected as members of the 2008 Drumline will be required to attend two weekend camps during the summer (one in June, and one in July). All selected members will receive detailed information about these summer camps following the April auditions. All Returning WVU Drumline members are required to re-audition.
All students interested in becoming a member of the WVU Drumline are strongly encouraged to attend the May 2nd-3rd camp, as almost all spots in the 2008 line will be filled at this camp. However, if you can not make it to this camp, you may still be able to audition. Please contact the WVU Band Office to discuss an alternate audition plan.
COLORGUARD AND TWIRLER REQUIREMENTS:
Colorguard (for new and returning members):
There will be a "mini-camp" on Saturday April 12th and Sunday, April 13th, which will serve as the audition for the 2008 WVU Colorguard.
